JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA, 29 OCTOBER 2021 — The African Energy Week (AEW) 2021 is the continent’s largest and only pan-African energy event, focusing on all sectors and levels of the value chain. Collaboration conversations on oil, natural gas, renewables, trade, investment, energy transformation, and electricity, among other topics, will take place at the event. The event is set to be revolutionary for Africa’s energy industry, with some of the continent’s top firms and major independents coming to Cape Town on the 9th-12th November 2021, and African Energy Transition Plc (Afentra) will be a part of it.

When Ian Cloke, Afentra’s Chief Operating Officer, visits Cape Town in November, he will be accompanied by Anastasia Deulina, the company’s Chief Financial Officer and Board Member, who has been confirmed as a speaker at the continent’s leading energy event. Cloke and Deulina, who represent the newly re-branded and re-focused energy company Afentra, are devoted to advancing the conversation on the role of hydrocarbons in Africa’s future energy transition. The company is a big supporter of Africa’s socioeconomic development and believes that all natural resources can help to alleviate energy poverty and boost industrialization. Rather than abandoning fossil fuels in the name of climate change, Afentra advocates for an integrated, carbon-reduction approach to energy sector development, which it will champion at the AEW 2021 in Cape Town.

Deulina has been instrumental in placing the company as a prominent participant in Africa’s energy sector as Chief Financial Officer and Board Member. Her broad energy experience, as well as her dedication to Africa’s economic development, make her an ideal facilitator and participant in energy transition discussions. Afentra has stepped in as a reliable partner for oil and gas businesses, as well as host governments, who are facing industry divestment from oil majors, which makes the company distinctive and its representatives valuable in Cape Town. Afentra is devoted to seeing the continent into a new era of progress, propelled by its enormous hydrocarbon base, by acquiring assets from majors and adopting carbon reduction strategies to resource production.

Deulina will participate in debates on energy transition and hydrocarbons at AEW 2021 in Cape Town, presenting a strong argument for the role oil and gas continue to play in supporting Africa’s socio-economic growth. Deulina will join an elite panel of experts on energy transition issues, adding to the discourse while also introducing fresh and innovative ways to resource maximization and monetization in Africa.

“In Cape Town, Anastasia Deulina will be an outstanding participant and important driver of energy transition debates. While Afentra is one of Africa’s burgeoning hydrocarbon businesses, Deulina is a key character in the continent’s energy progress. Afentra will be a key partner for African governments, industries, and stakeholders in 2021 and beyond, with a focus on growing fossil fuel development to relieve energy poverty while also considerably decreasing emissions.

The AEC’s annual conference, exhibition, and networking event, AEW 2021, is co-hosted by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy of South Africa. AEW 2021 brings together African energy players, investors, and international partners to showcase Africa as a destination for energy investments and to accelerate industry growth and development.
